The Fujitsu ScanSnap S300 offers both duplexing and an automatic document feeder in a portable scanner.
Portable. Duplexes. Automatic document feeder (ADF). Document and business card scanner.
No standard drivers, which means you can't scan from within most programs.
The Fujitsu ScanSnap S300 scanner brings the convenience of duplexing and an automatic document feeder to scanning on the go.
You could reasonably argue over whether the Fujitsu ScanSnap S300 ($295 direct) is the world's biggest portable scanner or its smallest desktop document scanner. I tested the S300 under Windows XP, but Fujitsu says the software also works with...

Fujitsu's ScanSnap S300M takes the technology from the company's well-received desktop document scanners, such as the ScanSnap S510M, and puts it into a device that's easier to carry from location to location.
The paperless office is a nice sentiment, but there are professions that are slow to evolve from creating reams of paper on a regular basis - law, estate agents, and medicine, to name a few. For mobile professionals looking for a way to manage paper ...

Fujitsu's ScanSnap S300M takes the technology from the company's desktop document scanners, and puts it into a portable device. The S300M is speedy and easy to use, but it does have some limitations.
Fast ; Scans double-sided pages in one pass ; Automatic paper-size sensor ; Bus-power option ; Portable design
Bundled Cardiris software is inaccurate ; No bundled OCR software
Unfortunately, Fujitsu doesn't bundle any OCR software with the S300M. However, since you can scan to a PDF file, you can use Adobe Acrobat's OCR Text Recognition feature
The S300M took only 8 seconds to scan a single-sided 1-page text document, 59 seconds to scan a 10-page single-sided text document, and 14 seconds to scan a 2-page color document containing both photos and text. The S300M, like the desktop ScanSnap...

Technology is now advanced enough to have shrunk the traditional large-footprint scanner down to something that resembles the dimensions of a family-sized bar of Toblerone. Fujitsu has come up with something different with the ScanSnap S300, ...
The S300 is aimed at a rather specific market, namely those who want to create digital copies of documents, and by not being TWAIN compatible it won't be for everyone. Despite being rather expensive it does do its job well, though, and if you want the ...

A sheetfed scanner small enough to fit in a briefcase
The S300 is squarely oriented at the office environment and, although it's effective, we'd have liked it to be a more capable all-rounder, particularly as it costs more than /'200

A sheetfed scanner small enough to fit in a briefcase
Noisy when in use ; Not good value
Good EPG ; Two tuners

Excellent build quality Double-sided multi-sheet feeding 10-sheet ADF Runs off AC adapter or USB connection
Can''t run on batteries No internal memory Scans to PDF only
This compact and lightweight colour scanner could prove useful to mobile professionals who need to digitise paper documents on their travels, although it only scans to PDF and doesn't run on batteries.

Fujitsu's ScanSnap S300 is the cutest, most minimalist sheetfed scanner ever. It's so perfectly tiny and well-proportioned that the snaking USB cable actually made me feel nervous and uncomfortable. Shouldn't it use Bluetooth, or something?
Decent software. Munchkin-small. Scans both sides of paper. Sheetfed. Scans with extraordinary quickness at low DPI.
Doesn't work on Macs. Maximum 600dpi. Needs 2 USB ports without AC. Good lord, nearly three hundred bucks? Really?
