JVC Everio GZ-MG77

The GZ-MG77 is one of JVC's mid range hard disk based camcorders and with a 30GB hard drive, 2.2 megapixel CCD and true 16:9 video, this machine is no...

Compact frame, easy to use, solid construction, storage space

Compression artefacts evident on rapid pans, ghosting, poor quality still images

The GZ-MG77 is an above average camcorder, but it's let down on occasion by poor video quality.

JVC Everio GZ-MG77

The small size and massive video storage capacity of the JVC Everio GZ-MG77 make it a tantalising choice, but poor video quality keeps this hard-disk-based camera from being a tape- or DVD-killer.

Supersmall and light ; Stores as much as 37 hours of video ; Easy and fast video transfer to your computer

Subpar video quality ; Aspect-ratio issues with third-party programs when shooting wide-screen ; No video light ; No provisions for external microphone or accessories

The JVC Everio GZ-MG77's stills are decent, suitable for small snapshot prints if you don't need to crop or zoom. Colour came out well, but our indoor shots were blurry, and the flash's red-eye reduction was completely ineffective.

Terrible

I will never buy a JVC product again. The price is high and the service is crap. The software provided is totally incompatible with many other software packages. This poor product has wasted alot of my time trying to figure out how it works.

Easy to carry around, has all the latest features.

The software is a nightmare to use, have had to purchase additional software as the ones provided are dodgy and JVC are useless at providing support.

Good

very good especial now that the price is down the fact that it has an expandable media drive is great no bulky tapes or cds to fool around with.

this camera is every thing you need and then some it has great software. it is also mildly user fiendly but easy to get used to

dosent take good motion shots unless i havent dicovered a feature that improves that. The original battery suck with only and hour of play record time so I would suggest investing a few bucks in to purchasing the 6 hour battery for a much longer use.
