The current editing limitations are significant, but once the software catches up, the Panasonic HDC-SD1 will be an excellent camcorder.

Captures and stores video of exceptional quality, 5.1 channel audio

Compression format means you can't edit video yet, limited included software

Panasonic HDC-SD1

Great image quality from this SDHC-based high-definition camcorder but its petite size makes it hard to hold still.

Vivid footage in HD ; Slim form factor

Hard to hold steady due to slim form factor ; Record button quite a stretch

The zoom mic function adjusts the levels of HDC-SD1's five microphones depending on the optical zoom level to focus on the voice of your subject. If, however, you're zooming in on streetscapes and monuments, we recommend that you turn this feature off...

The SD1 looks stunning, and performs even better. If this is what AVCHD delivers, then we're totally sold

Panasonic HDC-SD1

Great camera had to upgrade our PC and use Pinnacle 12 for editing.

Great Pictures, Excellent in Low Light, Flash great way of saving files, 1/4inch CCD's

Poor Battery life, Poor Handshake. No Software but I believe now bundled with Pinnacle 11

Panasonic HDC-SD1

How much PC power is necessary to process the HD files? Are 2.4 GHZ and 512 MB RAM too weak? Can the camera be used via AV plug to display to SD in either NTSC or PAL? How about the low light performance? Any better than thay provided by a lower...

Compacti, light weight. Flash memory is falling in price and the files are easier to import to PC

Cost. Price needs to come down. Any competitor about to introduce a similar device? Scarcity of compatible playing devices is also a constraint

Wonderful quality video in a TINY package; solid state, so very robust.

We took one of these cameras to the Great Bear Rainforest in Canada and captured breathtaking video in very low light conditions. You can clearly see the claws on each of the Grizzly Bears, even at full zoom. We found it simple to operate and entirely...

Superb video, solid state robustness, reliable and pocket sized.

Absolutely nothing. Next OS trip we'll buy the latest model.
