Sony Handycam HDR-XR550V

The XR550V boasts a number of important improvements, including 24Mbps recording, wide-angle lens and SD card support. We'd recommend the flash-only CX550V, unless you have gigantic hands or require 240GB of storage.

Full manual feature set for video ; Geotagging for video is fun, if not very practical ; Autofocus system performs very well

Annoying menu system ; No wind filter or meaningful audio controls ; Big and heavy ; Expensive ; Defaults to low resolution, not-full-HD video quality ; Cumbersome touchscreen interface

Sony Handycam HDR-XR550V
