The Pentax K-1 delivers a fine full-frame value for the photo-focused

Pentax's full-frame dSLR debut, the K-1, hits at an opportune time. Canon hasn't updated its 6D or 5D Mark III in at least a couple of years, nor has Nikon done so with its D750 or D610. That makes a new model at an aggressive price a welcome option....

The Pentax K-1 delivers excellent photo quality and a ton of features in a sturdy, well-designed body

The autofocus is inconsistent and the image stabilization isn't as good as competitors

For photographers who want great photo quality for less than $2,000, the Pentax K-1 hits the bullseye.

Review: Pentax K-1 delivers big performance, for a reasonable price

Full-frame doesn't have to mean an empty wallet. Pentax packs in more for less with the K-1

Full-frame on a budget, but with plenty of caveats stopping it being a full-framer for the masses.

The K-1 is the first full frame Pentax DSLR. Inside the weather-sealed body there is a 100 per cent field of view prism viewfinder and an LCD with a novel swivelling system that allows for the screen to be put into more orientations than any other...

The true prism viewfinder is superb, beautifully bright and clear. And the free moving LCD is an object lesson in how it should be done

The camera is large and heavy. The body alone weighs almost a kilo

The Pentax K-1has the largest – and a little bewildering – feature set of any camera we have tested. Absolutely everything that a photographer is likely to need by way of camera control is built in. It surpasses the feature set of the Canon and Nikon...

The epitomy of stills landscape cameras

As a now 8 year Pentax DSLR user, I came from one of the big brands due to low light performance, dynamic range work. The K1 is Pentax's first ever full frame entry (even though they have the successful Medium format niche covered.) Price is very...
