Large display, excellent interface, EasyPort mount, lane guidance, safety alerts, general navigation experience is pleasing
Traffic is optional (and expensive), no AC adapter included, no Australian text-to-speech voice
Battery life is rated at up to three hours. As with the rest of the company's range of GPS unit, TomTom doesn't include an AC charger in the sales package, so you'll have to charge the XXL 540 via the included USB cable or in-car charger
