I have ordered the monitor for work, since it has such nice resolution and is not oversized (my desk is 75cm deep). My goal was to run it at 125% scaling as required for my built-in laptop panel (fullHD 14 inch). Using Windows 7 hence same scaling...

When people see the Dell Ultra Sharp U2412M for the first time they're always amazed by it. Top quality IPS, terrific viewing angles, colours, clarity second to none. At 1920x1200 the fine detail of tiny text or photos or whatever is quite something....

Despite all of the display's notable qualities, $1999 is still a fairly high price to pay. Nevertheless, for people who crave a monitor with great image quality, useful extra ports, and a sleek design, the Dell 2707WFP can't be beat.

What's rather spectacular about the U2913WM, though, is the price — at AU$599, it's enough that people will be asking if they want a 27-inch with the extra 360 vertical pixels, or if 21:9 is in their future.

Dell Ultrasharp U2713HM

Dell's UltraSharp U2713HM does come in cheaper than Samsung's S27A850T, and offers USB 3.0 as well. It is quite power hungry, though, and a faint "criss-cross" pattern on light screens may irritate some. Ultimately, its biggest competitor will be the...

Dell UltraSharp U2311H

Considering its price, no one has an excuse any more to buy a second-rate TN panel. While it hasn't been given the same attention to detail in colour accuracy as the 2209WA or the U2711, the U2311H makes for a compelling buy if you want affordable 1080p.

The U3011 is massive and sublime. It's by no means cheap, but you're paying for the panel. For those who can justify it, it brings much needed improvements over the 3008WFP. For those who can't, go for the U2711 instead.
