The Last of Us (PS3)

Seven years after launch, the PlayStation gets its killer app

Well crafted story and characters ; Satisfying third person gameplay with the right dose of action

Enemies’ listening abilities are not consistent throughout the game ; Game’s story and setting initially relies on too many genre tropes

The Last of Us is a landmark piece of software that's a must-have for all PlayStation 3 owners. A slightly more interesting setting and tweaked enemies would make it near perfect, but it's still a 5-star game in our opinion.

The Last Of Us: Review

I just want to get this out from the start: The Last Of Us is an incredible game. Naughty Dog's finest title, to be sure, and if you're looking for buyer's advice, just skip the rest of this review and look at the score at the bottom. Suffice to say,...

The Last Of Us review

The Last Of Us is a brutal tale, and a fitting way to see off the PlayStation 3.

The Last Of Us will go down as one of the best survival games made, and probably one of the best games of the generation. It's not perfect, but it does so much right it challenging the player to make important decisions, always burdened with the...

The Last of Us Review

When all is said and done, my 14 hours with The Last of Us (a relatively long experience for an action title), left me utterly satisfied with how the game played out. As the credits rolled, I found myself missing my time with Joel and Ellie, yet...

Naughty Dog’s best narrative yet; Believable characters; Honed gameplay; Immersive sound; Engaging world; Often stunning visuals

Long loading times; Sporadic physics fails; Invisible walls; Oblivious AI stuff-ups

Preview: The Last of Us

Naughty Dog's next game is looking like an intense slice of post-apocalyptic survival horror – with heart.

You’ll also be missing what is shaping up to be a very emotional experience. Dialogue is sparse, but what is there hints at shared histories and even more things shared and unsaid. And with the young Ellie to look after, there is a distinctly Ico-like...
