Mass Effect 2: Overlord

Fun action, great audio and multiple memorable moments make Mass Effect 2's latest add-on a winner.

Excellent sound effects and music augment the sense of dread ; The Hammerhead vehicle is fun to pilot ; Fantastic closing sequence ; Interior and exterior areas alike look wonderful

The Hammerhead goes underutilised ; A few flaws carried over from the main game

Mass Effect 2: Overlord features a nice mix of gameplay elements, punctuating shooting segments with scripted set-piece events and smooth vehicular exploration. You even solve some light puzzles in between exciting encounters and tension-building...

Mass Effect 2

Once this intense and action-packed role-playing game pulls you into its orbit, you won't want to escape.

Great cast of interesting and diverse characters ; Excellent dialogue and voice acting ; Fantastic art design with a strong sense of identity ; Solid shooting mechanics make for exciting encounters ; Level design makes every mission feel fresh

Scanning planets can get tedious ; Some glitches and bugs

Mass Effect 2's improved shooting mechanics are no-brainers; they're the expected advancements that clean up the flaws of its predecessor. But what makes this sequel so rich isn't mechanics, but vision. A nightclub lit with flames, deadly family...

Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 2 drops in to remind us that 2010 isn't quite the future. But is this a sequel of The Dark Knight proportions or the stunted middle child of the trilogy? Cormac takes some quality time out with the hopes of reigniting old flames with...

Solid combat and clever characters. Well ahead of the RPG curve

I could have done without the "finger-quotes" character animation. Quite a time commitment, 12 hours when rushed, 30 when thorough

This game has delivered in every department and set the bar very high for 2010. Can't imagine anything else taking my game of the year. If you like shooters and RPGs than you and I are in the same niche market and should probably hang out sometime....

Mass Effect 2 review

As the second of a trilogy, Mass Effect 2 has some work to do. It must continue the saga of Commander Shepard and allow players who have completed Mass Effect to move seamlessly into the second portion of the story, while also remaining open enough to...

Commander Shepard returns to save humanity once again in the second part of the Mass Effect saga, and it’s not only one of the best looking games on the 360, it's also one of the best.

Mass Effect 2 360 Review

BioWare's Mass Effect 2 is an epic Space Opera of romance, adventure and exploration. It is dark, tense and full of suspense. It is, if you haven't already heard, a much more streamlined version of its original self. I'll try not to use the words...

The story of Shepard is now twice as long and engrossing ; Graphical feast for the eyes ; Much tighter story and integrated menus

Mini games are still tedious, but look nicer ; A lot of player control has been taken away ; Mass Effect 3 is so far away

If you are still wondering who is on your team, which old characters return, why has Shepard got scars, can I have a lesbian relation- then good, go play the game. It trumps the first game but at the same time shows emerging trends in simplifying menus...

Mass Effect 2 Review

With terrific script-writing, exceptional voice-acting and yet more substance added to an already wondrous Universe, Mass Effect 2 is as good as interactive storytelling gets.

Storyline and the methods used to deliver it are good as it gets; Transition between the two games is masterfully executed; Eye-candy and soundtrack matches the quality of the narrative; Most faults of the first game have been addressed

Some RPG elements have been oversimplified, limiting customisation; Mini-games and resource grinding gets old, quick

Mass Effect 2 Review

Commander Shepard is back in this second instalment of the trilogy. The first Mass Effect game heralded a new benchmark in dialogue interaction and story telling. So believable was the world and its meticulous construct that it rivalled the famous...

That being said, there is a whole universe to explore with the every detail covered for each planet you come across. The Codex is basically an encyclopaedia of the Mass Effect universe and if you take the time to read it you will learn everything from...
